If you prefer a jointed or moving mouthpiece, select one of the mounted or unmounted 65 Correction and Jointed Mouthpiece options.
Some mouthpieces may not have a photo example for every variation option. If you have any questions regarding a bit, please don't be afraid to give us a call!
The 65 Shank measures 7″ from the top of the bridle ring to the bottom of the rein rings. Crafted from high-quality steel, it features a gradual swooped-back design that creates a delayed reaction, giving the horse more time to respond and think about the rider’s cue before the bit reaches full contact pressure. This shank is a great choice for a more forgiving cue while also providing ideal leverage when needed.
This shank is designed to naturally patina and rust over time when exposed to humidity, saliva, or water. The rusting process is intentional, as it encourages salivation and relaxation in the horse’s mouth and is the traditional way of bit making.
The 65 Shank is highly versatile and can be paired with any of our mouthpieces!
