The Mercedes is a small step up from the Glider. It has a longer shank, but a smooth sliding action that really helps to get collection without offending the horse. I’ve watched top cutters use this bit for schooling and warming up. It can easily be used with a port of any form or typical barrel racing mouthpieces. I really like this bit with a chain and a low locking hinge port mouth. I have it in a large smooth bumpy as well for use on young horses. The type of curb strap used will change the severity of it. I generally use a leather curb.
